Account — plan and billing

The Account tab is where you see your current plan, understand what each tier includes, upgrade to Pro or Team, and manage your subscription. It is also the only place in the app that touches billing — everything else is about your roadmap.

What it does

Account has four sections.

Display name (Pro and Team only) lets you set the name that appears on changes, milestones, and saved views you create in this workspace. It is stored locally on your device and used by Change history (Team) and the attribution stamps on milestones and saved views (Pro).

Subscription shows your current plan and status. Free users see a short feature summary and an Upgrade to Pro button. Pro users see their subscription status, renewal date, and a Manage billing button that opens the Stripe portal for invoices, payment method changes, and cancellation. Team users also see seat usage. A Refresh button pulls the latest entitlement from the server if the app has not caught up after a subscription change.

Plan & features lists what Free, Pro, and Team each include so you can judge the value without leaving the app. Free users see upgrade buttons for both Pro and Team. Pro users see only the Team upgrade path — what Team adds on top. Team users see everything marked as included.

Tell the dev team opens the feedback dialog for bug reports, feature requests, or support notes. You can include an optional screenshot, leave an email for a reply, and choose whether to include basic app diagnostics.

App updates checks the latest published Roadmap Flow version and compares it with the version you are running. If an update is available, it opens the Microsoft Store listing or the Roadmap Flow download page.

A small plan indicator also lives in the sidebar nav, just above the Account tab — a "Free / ⚡ Pro" badge that opens the upgrade dialog in one click, or a quiet violet "Pro" pill for active subscribers.

When to use it

  • When you are deciding whether Pro or Team is worth it — Plan & features answers that without a sales page.
  • When you need to update your payment method, download an invoice, or cancel.
  • To set your Display name so your changes, milestones, and saved views carry your name (Pro and Team).
  • To send a bug report, feature request, or support note to the dev team.
  • To check whether a newer app version is available before a release review or after seeing an update announcement.

When not to use it

  • To set up your roadmap structure. That is Config, not Account.
  • To look up which features exist without reading the list. The Pro and Team badges on section headings in Progress and Share tell you in context.

Upgrading to Pro

  1. Open the Account tab.
  2. Click Upgrade to Pro.
  3. Pick Annual (€90/year) or Monthly (€9/month).
  4. Roadmap Flow opens Stripe Checkout in your browser — no email required before that step; Stripe collects it during checkout.
  5. Complete payment in Stripe. The app detects activation automatically and closes the dialog once confirmed.

Upgrading to Team

  1. Open the Account tab.
  2. Click Upgrade to Team.
  3. Enter your organisation name, seat count (minimum 5), billing email, and billing period.
  4. Roadmap Flow opens Stripe Checkout in your browser.
  5. Complete payment in Stripe. The app detects activation automatically.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting a login. Roadmap Flow is local-first and does not require an account. The subscription is per-device, managed by your email address on the billing side.
  • Leaving Display name blank. Change history (Team) attributes changes to "unknown" if no name is set — worth filling in before your team starts using it.
  • Expecting Roadmap Flow to silently replace itself. Microsoft Store handles Store updates; the app shows when a newer version exists and opens the update path.
